The error message at the login form means the GSA web application can’t connect to the gsad web server via ajax. You should check your browser console for further error. Also you might take a look at the network requests in the browser to get additional information.
Due to the fact that you are self compiled it with Ubuntu, i would suggest you try first a Greenbone Trail to see if this is working correctly. And then check what is different.
It looks like your URL or network might be messed up.
I was able to trace the problem down. It looks like the gsad it is not able to read the log file
Can not open ‘/opt/gvm/var/log/gvm/gsad.log’ logfile: Permission deniedAborted. It is kind of weird because i did set the group and the user gvm to have permision to the whole directory I do not know why it is acting the way it is. I will try to set the permissions again.
let me know if there is needed to do smth more than I am actually doing.
So I was able to trace down the issue and finally got it to work. It was a an owner permission thing. Now I can run the website and finally connect to it with my username and password. I will keep you guys updated tomorrow and thank you for your help as always. I am not taking classes and all that stuff so I have learned Linux on my own. I have been mainly focused in sigint and cell phone security.
I will send if i have any other issues or if I will need any help with updating scapdata and nvts as they are not appearing in my web interface.
