Can OpenVAS do a scan on a scanner device?

Hi! I know OpenVAS can scan printers with just tweaking some scan configuration. I try to scan a scanner device but I only get one result which is OS Detection Consolidation and Reporting.
The scanner I’m taking about is an image/document scanner.
I have an Epson Scanner for reference.

Are there any scan configuration that I should change?

Does you scanner offer any remote-services for authenticated checks like SSH/SNMP/HTTP ?

If so you can add parameters to your scan-configuration to scan it deeper with an authenticated check.
