Failed to start opanvas-scanner.service

Hi guys:
I finished install openvas, gsa and gvm, here is the list:
gvmd-8.0.0-6928.el7.art.x86_64
openvas-smb-1.0.5-6923.el7.art.x86_64
openvas-scanner-6.0.0-6930.el7.art.x86_64
gvmd-8.0.0-6928.el7.art.x86_64
greenbone-security-assistant-8.0.0-6932.el7.art.x86_64
greenbone-vulnerability-manager-10.0.0-6947.el7.art.noarch

And already started redis-server listening on /var/run/redis/redis.sock, now I can start both gvmd.service and gsad.service but failed to start openvas-scanner by following error:

Hi biubiugo,
Have you other logs in /var/log/openvas/ ?

Bye
Giovanni

The following topic and the “Common issues” mentioned there might help as well:

Hi Mogimbo
There doen’t have any file in the directory “/var/log/openvas/”
But there already have configuration in openvassd.conf like following text:
# Log file (or ‘syslog’) :
logfile = /var/log/openvas/openvassd.log
thx

Hi cfi
I did all suggestion in the issue but still can’t work
thx

@biubiugo Could you please elaborate why the following post was deleted by you?

openvassd: error while loading shared libraries: libgcrypt.so.20: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

This could be exactly one issue why the service isn’t starting and should be reported to the maintainer of your used package repository.

Hi cfi
At first this file “/libgcrypt.so.20” is locate at “/opt/atomicorp/atomic/root/usr/lib64/libgcrypt.so.20”, then I make a link to “/usr/lib64/libgcrypt.so.20” to fix this error.
But now have a new error “openvassd: error while loading shared libraries: libopenvas_nasl.so.9: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory”
@cfi

Those are packaging issues with your used packages. Such issues are out of scope of this forums because Greenbone isn’t providing them so i’m closing this thread for now.

Please report a new issue to the maintainer of your packages at:
