Greenbone Community Feed: Change of signature key Dec 1st 2018

The key used to sign the Greenbone Community Feed (GCF) will change on December 1st, 2018.

The signatures provided as part of the GCF help you to ensure the NVTs you use for scanning have not been tampered with between the feed server and your Greenbone/OpenVAS setup.

In order to maintain and improve the cryptographic security provided by the signatures in the face of constant technological improvement, Greenbone Networks has decided to migrate the Greenbone Community Feed to a state-of-the-art algorithm and key length, using an RSA key with a key length of 4096 bit.

To ensure you will be able to verify signature after December 1st, please download and import the public key provided at:

Please refer to

if you need help with importing the key.

If you are using a Greenbone Community Edition (GCE) Virtual Machine with Greenbone OS 4.2.6 or later you do not need to do anything as the key is already present on your installation.
