GVM 20.08 on Debian 10 writeup created

Hi,

I missed it by one day…
GVM 20.08 was released [GVM 20.08 (stable, initial release 2020-08-12)] and today I updated my little writeup from GVM 11 to 20.08 if someone want to try out the source installation on Debian 10.

This is just some help if you want to test out the great work that Greenbone have done with GVM.
And if you find any problems, fact error or have a suggestion, just leave a comment

Great work again @falk.

Note that GVM 20.08 (stable, initial release 2020-08-12) has some additional info on the changes between GVM 11 and 20.08 and AFAICS the --lock-file-dir /opt/gvm/var/run/ospd/ of the ospd-openvas service file should be changed to --lock-file-dir /opt/gvm/var/run.

And

upload plugins in redis with openvas

sudo openvas -u

is not necessary at all. ospd-openvas will do that for you on startup and every feed version change.

Hi, I followed your write for the initial install of GVM11 and would like to upgrade to 20.08. Is this possibly I can’t seem to find anything on how to do this?
