I notice that my OpenVAS is using only NVT to determine the risk, how can we use other like CVE to check ?

Most NVTs refer to CVEs and are very powerful, so the NVTs are the key to vulnerability testing.

You will find a “CVE Scanner” in the list of scanners. That one uses the CVE database
to check for vulnerable products. It needs prior full scans that populate the database with product detections.
