There might be various reasons:

  1. The system doesn’t have any vulnerabilities at all
  2. nmap is missing / not installed / not working: Scan results only logging
  3. The existing vulnerability results are unreliable and not shown by default: Openvas-nasl cannot get the right report

Just like what @cfi said, I would add in to check your Scan Configs by either “Editing”/“Cloning” them in GSA. Go to “Port scanner” plugin, enable it, and “Save”. Here is an image of what it looks when you are modifying the default Scan Config “Full and fast”:

Thank for your reply.
I enable Port scanner , then scan is work normal.

But my kali VM environment is not enable Port scanner, that is works.
So what is different !?

Make sure to only enable the following two VTs from the “Port scanners” family:

  • Ping Host (OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.25623.1.0.100315)
  • Nmap (NASL wrapper) (OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.25623.1.0.14259)

If enabling the whole “Port scanners” family you could run into various issues like e.g. too long scan times (due to multiple enabled port scanners) and similar.

Thanks for reading my website I might add documentation for Kali Linux in next release i’ve seen a lot of people searching for this. Hope you’ve resolved your issue though.

Thank you for the hint. I enabled everytghing the scan has, unfortunately it made no differences  It still only shows/finds logs.

Hello. I’ve the same trouble… Did you found a solution ?

I had the same issue today and checked the Port Scanner. It doesn’t work.

Finally, I rebuild gvmd data, and scap and then the scan backs to work.

gvmd --rebuild
gvmd --rebuild-gvmd-data=all
gvmd --rebuild-scap

This fixed the issue on a new 21.4.3 install.
