The number of plugins is inconsistent with the number in scan config such as "Full and fast"

I install gvm-9:
openvas-scanner-5.1.3
openvas-manager-7.0.3
openvas-libraries-9.0.3
gsa-7.0.3
The figure below is the total number of plugins I calculated, the number is 50979:

But I find that the number of plugins shown in scan config such as “Full and fast” is 49834:

I want to know why?

Hi, when choosing the category for a topic please try to have a look at the category description for each category first:

The current used category is/was https://community.greenbone.net/c/vulnerability-tests (Description: About the Vulnerability Tests category) which is about vulnerability tests (the so called “NASL scripts”).

Your question is completely unrelated to the NASL script itself so i have moved this topic into the better fitting https://community.greenbone.net/c/gse (Description: About the Source Edition (GSE) category).

Just remembered that the Manager had problems under certain situations while updating the internal nvti cache in the past (https://github.com/greenbone/gvmd/pull/428, https://github.com/greenbone/gvmd/pull/426) which could be related to the seen differences. The backport to GVM-9 is pending:

Thanks, cfi. The openvas-manager-7.0 is being continuously updated. I see that openvas-manager-7.0 was released on March 29, 2018 more than a year from now, so when will openvas7.0.4 be released?

Unfortunately i don’t have any insights into the release process of GVM.

It’s likely but not set in stone that GVM 9 doesn’t get any further bugfix releases after we just released GVM 10.
