The scanned host is power off during scanning

One of the networks I scan with GVM is a network with office computers. This means that during the scanning process, the user can either turn off the computer or take the laptop to a meeting (disconnecting it from the network). In each such case, there are still scanner processes trying to perform further vulnerability scans. It takes ages. Is there any way to stop the disconnected computers scanning process?

If all scanned hosts are answering to an ICMP echo request then you can try the following experimental setting:

Mark host as dead if going offline (failed ICMP ping) during scan

which can be found in the following VT preference:

Name: Global variable settings
OID: 1.3.6.1.4.1.25623.1.0.12288
Family: Settings
