Trying to reset my login password cause i forgot the default one

I didnt write down my default password that I was given from the setup in kali linux. I am in gvm 10 and put in the command

gvmd --user=admin --new-password=new_password

everytime I put that in I get the error code

Can not open ‘/var/log/gvm/gvmd.log’ logfile: Permission denied

** (process:3687): ERROR (recursed) **: Can not open ‘/var/log/gvm/gvmd.log’ logfile: Permission deniedkali@

I have also tried to do it with sudo but yet it doesnt work.

Please check back with the Kali community / manuals with which permissions that command needs to be run. This is something specific to the Kali packages / environment for which you should find an answer in the Kali package manual.
