How to update GSA Version 20.08.1 to the newest version?

Which operating system and version are you running and how did you originally install it?

Hi, I installed it on Kali Linux (Virtualyzed in Virtual Box). Let me know if you need more information. I just wander if it can be upgraded to GVM 21.04 and also what are the main difference between the 2 versions.

It looks like you should be able to upgrade within Kali using the package manager, but you will need to have an up to date Kali install within the VM. If you have a current Kali install but still don’t see it available, take a look at the Kali forum to see if they have recommendations: https://forums.kali.org/

Thank you for the information. I have Kali updated and upgraded but “apt install openvas” gives the following notice: openvas is already the newest version (20.8.0.3-kali). So I have the 20.08 installed now.
Also cannot update scap and gvmd_data although i use the correct commend (I think): runuser -u _gvm – greenbone-nvt-sync – type scap (ou gvmd_data).

There was a repository update for GVM (21.4.3) in the Kali repository today so give it another try. If it’s still stuck at 20.8.0 please post the output of:

cat /etc/os-release

and

uname -r -v

Thanks DeeAnn, Issues were solved. A new installation picked the 21.04 version automatically and feeds are also OK.
