Verify what the latest state of the Greenbone Community Feed?

May I ask how I can verify what the latest state of the Greenbone Community Feed (including the NVT, SCAP, CERT and GVMD Data) is? I built my Greenbone system from the 20.08 source code, and the Feed Status shows NVT, SCAP, CERT as 3-4 days old, GVDM 18 days old, even if I run the update commands without an error message.

Furthermore, if I look at the https://secinfo.greenbone.net/ site to compare the list of NVTs, SCAP and CERT definitions, there’s some noticeable difference in what’s there online, and what’s there on my system. Is this difference normal?

Thank you.

Hi,

Furthermore, if I look at the https://secinfo.greenbone.net/ site to compare the list of NVTs, SCAP and CERT definitions, there’s some noticeable difference in what’s there online, and what’s there on my system. Is this difference normal?

Yes this is normal as the secinfo site has the Greenbone Security Feed (GSF, the commercial feed) enabled. The GCE installation has the Greenbone Community Feed (GCF) enabled, therefor the difference.

I built my Greenbone system from the 20.08 source code, and the Feed Status shows NVT, SCAP, CERT as 3-4 days old, GVDM 18 days old, even if I run the update commands without an error message.

The feed on the servers are updated each day around noon (excluding weekends and official German holidays), so if you now perform an update the feed and thus the feed status will be updated as well.
Note that the GVMD_data will not be updated regularly, but on changes only.
